Journalistic Reliability

So Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, has been in the news a bit today. I’ve seen two articles about him. Within a paragraph or two, I noticed a discrepancy: While one said that Wikipedia is the second most popular website in the world, another said it was the fifth most popular website (I don’t have a link to the first article). A quick Google later and I found two more rankings: Sixth and seventh.

So, which is it folks? I guess it’s just a matter of how you count it. Don’t assume what you read is true. At least three of the rankings above are false.
